Daily Quest Log 1: Crimson Desert
Some games don’t naturally fit into the rhythm of ManaMode.
And yet, from the moment I started Crimson Desert I knew this was a journey I wanted to document.
This is a game I’ve been looking forward to for a long time.
It’s vast, ambitious, and built around exploration a world designed not just to be completed, but to be discovered.
Playing at My Own Pace
This kind of game often comes with an unspoken pressure. To rush. To discover everything first. To keep up with everyone else playing it.
But I don’t want that experience.
I don’t want to follow guides, copy routes, or watch others uncover the world before I do. Because at that point, it stops feeling like my adventure. It starts to feel like I’m just retracing someone else’s steps.
So with Crimson Desert, I’m approaching it differently.
Slowly.
Intentionally.
And entirely on my own terms.
First Impressions
The opening has been slower than I expected. But not in a negative way.
There’s a sense that the game is building something laying the foundation for a much larger journey. The world feels expansive, even in these early moments, and it’s clear that there’s a lot waiting to be uncovered.
It hasn’t revealed everything yet and that’s exactly what makes it interesting.
The Joy of Not Knowing
One of the most exciting parts of starting a new game like this is simply not knowing what lies ahead. No optimised paths. No “best builds.” No rush to the end. Just exploration.
That’s what I want this playthrough to be about wandering, discovering, and figuring things out naturally.
Letting the world unfold at its own pace.
Session Reflection
Even in these early stages, Crimson Desert already feels like a different kind of experience.
Not just something to complete, but something to live in. It may not be a traditional fit for ManaMode, but the way I approach it still is.
Slow. Curious. Intentional.
And if the opening is anything to go by, this journey is going to be worth taking my time with.
