Crimson Desert Quest Log 4: Returning to Hernand
Another short return to Crimson Desert but one that felt like a clear step forward.
Back to Hernand
This session brought me back to Hernand, and with it, the start of Chapter 2.
There’s something grounding about returning to a familiar place in a game like this. After the early exploration and first discoveries, coming back with a bit more understanding of the world makes everything feel slightly different.
More intentional.
A Rewarding Detour
Rather than pushing forward straight away, I decided to revisit Lioncrest Manor.
Taking the time to go back and explore properly paid off.
I came away with:
a Gold Bar
a Hwando which is a powerful two-handed sword
a Rhonid Large Shield
Moments like this reinforce the kind of experience I want from this playthrough.
Not rushing from objective to objective, but taking the time to explore, revisit, and uncover things I might have missed.
Small Sessions, Steady Progress
Even though this was another short session, it still felt productive.
There’s a rhythm starting to form:

discover
improve
And that rhythm feels far more enjoyable than trying to push through large sections quickly.
Looking Ahead
With Chapter 2 now underway, I’m hoping to carve out some longer sessions soon. Funnily enough how I started chapter 2 was coming out of a jail cell, this was after getting caught stealing the gold bar from Lioncrest Manor.
There’s a growing sense that the world is opening up further, and I’d like to spend more time within it especially exploring new areas and beginning to take on bounties.
That feels like the next natural step.
Session Reflection
This session was a reminder that progress doesn’t always come from moving forward.
Sometimes it comes from going back. Revisiting places. Taking your time. Letting the world reveal more when you’re ready and so far, Crimson Desert continues to reward that approach.
